WWA has announced it is to develop a new facility on the site in the form of a modern hangar with integral workshops, offices conference areas. The development will also include a new three storey Control Tower for air traffic operations.
Construction is due to commence later in 2017 with completion expected by the spring of 2018. The new building will have a total area of 1,500 sq m, increasing the available accommodation for its customers by over 60% as well as replace all of the airport’s existing administration facilities.
Visiting aircraft operators or those already based at the airport will be able to utilise as needed, a fully secure, high quality facility with direct access to an airside movement apron and exclusive taxiway to the main runway.
