New Hangar and Taxiway Extend Airport’s Capability

An important new facility has now been added to WWA in the form of a large hangar and taxiway.  Now known as Hangar 1, it is 900 m2 in size and has been created to accommodate both manned and unmanned aircraft including, large helicopters such as Chinook and the Leonardo Merlin, as well as unmanned aircraft with wingspans up to 20m.

In 2021 the hangar will be extended to add offices and workshops, as well as a new airport control tower.  Users of the hangar will enjoy exclusive access to the runway via the newly constructed taxiway Bravo.
